Selecting map picker from a JICREG report with a User List

If you have defined a report by creating a user list and you click on the 'Map Picker' option, you will be automatically taken to the 'Selected' tab of the catchments option within JICREG mapping. Here, you will see listed all the Newspaper names from your report and the User List that defined the report.

By changing to the relevant geography type e.g. Newspapers and checking the ‘Filter by Selected User List’ box, you will be presented with an additional three columns to the traditional Total Adult AIR. These columns deal with the following:

You can sort on these columns to provide the most suitable data.

An example of the updated fields can be seen below:

Deselect the titles that you do not want to map by un-checking the box to the left hand side of the newspaper name. Please remember, we recommend no more than eight catchments are selected to ensure a clear, usable map.

Click on any of the other blue catchment options (e.g County, ILR, and Local Government) to select catchments from additional geography types.

When you click on any of the other geography types, you will notice that you will only be presented with those catchments that have some crossover with your user list. This is because the system filters all JICREG geography types by the selected user list.

The additional columns of data help you make an informed decision about coverage and wastage in relation to your user list.

Throughout all the geography types, clicking on a column heading will result in the column being ordered either in descending or ascending order. The example above shows you the ascending option selected on the % Adult Population in Selection column.

Proceed to make your selections by checking the box next to each required catchment.

Click on 'Show Selected' to ensure you have no more than eight catchments selected for a clear usable map.

Run map picker from a JICREG report without a user list

If you have not created a user list when creating your JICREG report and click on the 'run Map Picker' button you will be taken to the 'Selected' tab of the catchments option within JICREG mapping. Displayed will be all the titles from your report.

Select those titles you wish to map by checking the box next to each required title.

If you wish to add any additional catchments from another geography type, navigate through the predefined geography types by clicking on the relevant headings.

For further advice see ‘Selecting the catchments to map'.

Proceed to make your catchment selections by checking the box next to a catchment you want to include on your map. Deselect any catchments by unchecking the boxes.

Click on 'Show Selected' to ensure you have no more than eight catchments selected for a clear, usable map.

Using a stored User List

The user lists are stored by the date they were created. For example, if some of your user lists were created in 2004 they can be accessed by clicking on the 2004 link at the top of the page.
